Kuban Resorts Remain Popular in the Post-Olympic Period
The flow of tourists including foreigners to the resorts of the Krasnodar region in 2015 exceeded that one during the Olympic year, despite an opposite world experience.
As the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Krasnodar Region Evgeniy Kudelya reported in an interview with RIA Novosti, a certain decline in terms of taxes, occupancy and number of tourists has always been in the year following the Olympics according to international practice. But in the Kuban region, following the results of 10 months of 2015, it was able to keep the flow of tourists at the level of the previous year: in 2014, 13.8 million tourists visited the resorts of the Krasnodar region, and in 2015, the figure is expected to be about 14 million holidaymakers. Only for three summer months, 7.2 million people have rested in the Kuban resorts, and loading of the industry organizations of the Black Sea coast was more than 90% and that one of the Azov Sea was 51%. Tax revenues from the enterprises of sanatorium branch also remained at the level of 2014: 4.7 billion rubles for 10 months of the year.
During the first nine months of this year, the Krasnodar region was visited by 700 thousand foreigners including tourists that amounted to about 10% of the total number of the tourists. These figures are comparable with the previous Olympic year as for the total number of foreign visits.
